Court Services

Navigating the court system can be intimidating and complex. You don't have to figure it out alone. FavorHouse advocates are standing by at DV Court every week to provide resources, referrals, and support to victims of domestic violence. No one in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties has to face their abuser without a knowledgable advocate at their side.

If you are experiencing threat, violence, harrassment, or if you feel you are in immediate danger from your partner- you may consider obtaining an injunction for protection, also known as a restraining order.

Seperate from other services, FavorHouse has Florida Bar-licensed Injunction for Protection Project (IFP) attorneys providing free legal advice and representation to petitioners in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties. The IFP Project attorneys meet with survivors to assist them in determining whether filing a Petition for Injunction for Protection is appropriate.  The IFP Project Attorney assists survivors in completing and filing the initial petitions, and provides representation at:

  • IFP hearings

  • Hearings to defend against dissolving or terminating injunctions

  • Hearings to request an extension or modification of the injunctions

The IFP Project Attorneys also make referrals to other organizations for services not available through the IFP Project.

All FavorHouse services are free and confidential. Learn more about legal resources and Injuctions for Protection below. Contact a FavorHouse IFP attorney to see if obtaining an IFP is appropriate for your situation.
